National oil and gas companies confirm presence at OGWA 2010

Muscat, Oman, 11 January 2010 – The 2010 Oil & Gas West Asia (OGWA) Exhibition & Conference will prominently feature the stands of national oil & gas companies from throughout the GCC, in addition to international oil & gas majors, technology and service providers, and many other local and foreign companies directly serving the industry.

The OGWA 2010 exhibition will be held from April 11-13, 2010 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre. It will be spearheaded by Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), Oman LNG, Oman Gas Company, Oman Refineries and Petrochemicals Company, Qatar Petroleum, and the Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO).

“The strong presence at OGWA 2010 of national oil & gas companies from the GCC is a clear confirmation of OGWA’s standing as one of the most important events for the oil & gas industry in the Middle East region,” said Nasser Diab, general manager of Omanexpo LLC, the leading organiser of professional trade shows in the sultanate.

The national oil and gas companies will primarily be showcasing their operations, so as to familiarise visiting industry professionals about their latest projects and future development plans. Their exhibition stands are expected to be among the largest and most beautifully designed, befitting their status as the primary movers and shakers in the region’s biggest industry.

Diab pointed out that, in addition to the region’s national oil and gas companies, more than 150 other companies from more than 25 countries worldwide have also confirmed their participation in the exhibition. Foreign countries that will be represented include France, Germany, China, the UK, Thailand, Canada, Qatar, Switzerland, India, Bahrain, Portugal, Saudi Arabia, Korea, Kuwait, the UAE, Spain, and the USA.

Held under the patronage of the Ministry of Oil & Gas, OGWA 2010 is officially supported by PDO and the Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industry (OCCI). The media sponsors of the event include Pipeline Magazine as official publication, Zawya as business community partner, and Arab Oil & Gas Magazine, Gulf Oil & Gas, Oil & Gas News, Oil Review Middle East, and Upstream Magazine as media partners.

Alongside the exhibition, the second SPE EOR Conference at OGWA will take place. This technical conference will once again be managed and organised by the Society of Petroleum Engineers. The conference will bring together global experts in all forms of EOR techniques to present, share, and discuss their experiences. It will cover the latest advances in thermal gas and chemical EOR methods, EOR selection criteria, surveillance techniques for locating remaining oil, and drivers and challenges in implementing EOR.
